has papers, could be driven home. Needs an injection pump diaphram. thats whay it was parked. If interested I can tow it to my parents place and we could do the work there.

Watch out Martin, the diesel bug will bite hard.
(even though it sucks watching diesel prices climb past petrol)
Cheers,

Martin, sounds like your starting to hoard...
GG

I think it's time away from my 66 that's upsetting the balance. I'd be up to 4 cruisers, already have my 66, a 71 and a 74 FJ40.

Never owned a diesel but I'm starting to feel like maybe I should.

ill let you know after the weekend, But probably not;)

Nope, the deed is done.
It may be rusty and a bit ugly, but I'm stoked :flipoff2:.
Since I'm, errr, careful with my money :grinpimp:, all of my cruisers have been "cheep". This cruiser represents a number of firsts for me; first diesel and first cruiser I was able to test drive before purchase. This is the first time I've been able to actually drive the truck home. In this case, even took the opportunity to make a detour for some camping up above Kalamalka Lake. Swung by for a visit at Dan and Marie's place, picked up some missing parts, and made it down to Chilliwack with the fuel gauge hovering on the half mark (about 450km driving).
Thanks again Dan for hooking me up with the cruiser, for replacing the pump diaphragm and for the extra parts.
Only took some minor tweaking, a new air filter, top up fluids and air in tires. The crappy old tires held out, passed a few cops and didn't get nailed for the studded rear tires or dead tail lights :hillbilly:. On the plus side, it's a Jan '84, and it has 236,500km on the clock.
Couple pics from my weekend, enjoy:

Good deal! 236k is awesome. Time to search for a USA clean body if you want to go that route and transplant the engine in. Rust is such a pain that if it doesn't bother you just enjoy it.

But awesome pictures. Kalamalka lake is a nice spot for sure. My wife wants to move to Vernon. So I may be done there soon. Maybe this year. We like what the Okanagan offers.

Yeah I'm really happy with the deal. It is quite rusty, but it doesn't leak inside (so it's clean and doesn't stink). Never had a wagon before so I'm not making any long term plans just yet. For now the rust is mostly just a cosmetic issue. Structurally it's still not that terrible. Main plan is to do some long overdue service on it, then put on some more km's exploring the backroads.
