My81 bj42 ebrake is sticking in the cable to the rear axle from the hand brake,

If I crawl under and pull the cable out it releases easly, Is there some trick to lubing the cable?

are you sure it's not the bell cranks hanging up? or that goofy plastic bit on the bracket on the rear diff cover?

i like "fluid film" for cables and such.

If all the hardware is there and you still having problems you may have to replace the whole e-brake assy. I had a similar problem with my ebrake and replaced it about year ago.

Not the bell cranks AFAIK, I pull the cable that leads to the pass side and it does release back into the cable housing at the goofy plastic area at the diff.

I will check it out soon and post what I find.
