Well wife and kids are out of town, so I got a little bored...

So i put my 38 toyo MTs on my 80.

My 80 has about 4-5 inches with a combo of J springs and 2 inch spacers.

I currently run the 36x15.50R16 Mickey Thompson ATZs which measure in height at about 35 inches.

My toyos measure out to be a 36s.

I am going to eventually go with a taller and little skinnier tire, but wanted to see what these would look like...

thats just nuts I like it hah

I thought the Mickey Ts were wide...

Add a crazy backspacing and wapow they are out there.

here is some driveway wheeling shots.

Last pics shows how the backspacing kicks it out far from the brakes..

Unfortunately that backspacing makes it very hard to turn. almost like having front locker engaged. totally messes up srub radius.

Mounting em up helped me find out what i would need to do to run a bigger tire. Thankfully they seem to be minor.

-extend bump stop to keep tires off frame and fenders.

-maybe a little fender trimming ;)

I don't want to add more lift. I like the way it sits now.

I already replaced the front Drive shaft with a Double Cardon from Tom Woods to decrease the vibes i was getting. Still like to drive it on the street.

How does it run with the 4.88 gears?

Looks awesome. Your samurai looks huge too!

the point of this was to see how bad 2.5 back spaced wheels would stick out and render turning pretty much just an idea. More like a dream.

I think it would be fine with 3.75 backspaced wheels and some fender trimming. well alot of fender trimming..

Darnold87 good to see a fellow Landcruiser/Samurai owner!

I like it a lot.... I was thinking of getting 3 or 3.5 backspacing rims. .... so its really hard to turn? Just from being so wide? Or rubbing on stuff? I'm not afraid to cut stuff so.....
Man that looks good!

@Kevin8086 Here is a few I dug up. This is on J springs, 2" MT spring spacers up front, and a bit of fender trimming.

So, it looks like you were running wheel spacers to get to that 2.5" of back space?
