Go to bed little boy .... I'm sure you have school in the morning .... :flipoff2:

Lurk more, talk s*** less .... :flipoff2:

Shotts, no offense dude, but I'm not overly impressed by those 100 shots. Don't get me wrong, I know we've all seen pics of Alan's 100 awhile back, so we know the 100 can wheel. I just think a 100 is out of its elements when doing true rock crawling. So to me, the 80 is the choice.

Pimp - never drive another vintage eh? :D

i kinda skipped over a lot of these messages but definitly get an 80. no matter what people say you can not beat a solid axle vehicle. especially with front and rear lockers. they are so much better offroad and you can only do so much with ifs no matter how you try to get around it you cant. i learned that by owning a two door z71 tahoe. so go with the 80. its one of the best thing toyota has made and i know a lot of people can vouch for that. good luck.

I HOPE to get my wife hooked on driving the 100 (we're still looking) so I can get myself an 80 also, in a few years.

Thanks to everyone for their posts in this thread. I wanted to summarize for the next noob who reads this:

1) 80's rule.

2) 100's are not rock crawlers, but if you have balls and a front locker you can pretend.

3) 100's are grocery getters. I'm sure they will be saying this about the next version in about a decade and lauding the 100 for its prowess.

3) Some rigs are faster than others. Whereas the real question should be HOW SLOW CAN YOU GO?

4) All Land Cruisers are awesome.

5) The people here are full of it (knowledge) and spout of at the mouth (educate their peers) because they have big heads (hearts):)

So in conclusion, THANK EVERYONE for their help, and I look forward to seeing you on the trails.

Hee hee! Opinion?

The statements in this thread are substantiated by positive knowledge or proof. :D

Friends don't let 100's try to follow 80's either....... :flipoff2:

John everybody appreciates your opinion, most of us just believe that an 80 will still crush a 100.......

Always said it will too.......on 4.0 and above trails. Below that, my 80 has nothin' on my 100.....but my 100 has mucho on my 80. You-all keep forgettin' this. It's only up to a certain point the 2 can hang (unless ya want to make a Podvinmobile out of a 100 :D ).

I still have yet to see any pics of your 100 on something like this:

What kind of an ass would take a $75,0000 investment onto a trail like that? Yer not lookin' at him. What do you think I bought an 80 for?

AWESOME! AWESOME! One change though......My 80 is my grocery getter. It can haul more in it than my 100 cuz it doesn't have 3rd row seats! :D

I think this thread rocks!

i got to wheel with shotts 100 and i have to say i was really skeptical at first about 100s. My dad bought a 2001 lx470 and when i first saw them i thought they were ugly. I couldnt see the old land cruiser style in them. the 80 just looks so mean. I go tin the lx470 and i was like htis thing is huge so wide and big i would never drive one. but its sooooo quiet and smooth and well nice. I wheeled with shotts and i was just amazed at what his was capable of. every trail we went on he took the hardest route on purpose. He hugged walles of cliffs where the larger roacks were and just drove up what ever he pointed it at. I have to say if the 100 wasnt so new still and so big. Id wheel one in a heart beat. Granted its not solid axle and what not its still very cablable. To me an outfitted 100 would do just about any trail as a 80 with only its size holding it back on some of the trails.
