I've noticed that folks also ask a LOT for sub-50K Defenders, especially '97 models (all automatics). Copley Motors is notorious about this.......that being said, they RARELY bring anywhere near that! I almost never see any version selling for more than $35K anymore.....(and this one doesn't have A/C)

It is a nice truck, but it just strikes me as being way over priced. Take a 150,000 mile, locked 80 at $6K and put a COMPLETE new interior in it............I'm still amazed at the magic 100K number as the mark for the price to often drop by 40%

You'll be glad you did! Other than being underpowered, an 80 is a really nice, remarkably capable rig!

well ill throw this out there...I have an 03 volvo awd wagon I could probably get $7k or $8k for......I don't want an 80 with more than 120k on it bc (don't ask) that is the argument my wife has for not selling the volvo...."It's got good miles and is reliable" she says this because I travel all over the state for work. She would probably let me sell it ANd the 40 and buy a lower mile one, but I am NOT selling my 40!

Roger, got it.....the issue is prying Elizabeth away from Natalie and dropping her at my parents......but soon enough....remember she has only been married to me 2 years and this is her first "third vehicle". I have bought and sold 3 Toy 4x4s though so she knew this was coming eventually!
