80 e-locker to 40 rear ff (1 Viewer)

Has anyone tried putting an 80 e-locker to there ff 40 rear differential? Will it bolt in? Any conversions?

Can and has been done, from memory you need and axle from a 70 series with a difflock. There are threads here about it if you go digging in search.

You need to take the Toyota e-locker gasket, trace the cutouts onto your housing and clearance it. You need the short-side axle shaft with longer splines. The correct part is from a full-floater with a cable locker. It's probably available from Toyota. You also need a couple of studs that are longer. There are threads around here. I like to use google to search and add "site:ih8mud" to the end of the search line to only search here.
