80 Door handle replacement (1 Viewer)

I bought one of those chrome handles about 8 year ago. I sanded it and painted with some spray paint mixed up to toyota color code at an auto paint shop. Still working great. It's slightly darker than my probably faded paint, but no one notices it but me.

I'd do it again - especially for the price it was. I think it was like $20.

And if memory serves, I just took some course sand paper and sanded it by hand. I wanted a lot of grooves for the paint to hold on to. So far so good. Btw, that's a current picture. I paused my hurricane prep to take it!

Looks great. Well worth $15 instead of $100. Thanks for the pic. Stay safe down there. Hope it doesn't get as bad as some are saying.

Thank you. We've never had a hurricane with the rivers this high. Water has nowhere to go. We'll make it.
