coil overs have been done before, Jodo did it with his Rubicon Express arms

I guess Corey is going to email the shop owner that thread so he can check it out. I know it can be done. It should be getting the beginning of its mods soon.

im for sure subscribed to this build:popcorn::beer:

I'll take some measurements when it gets done. The shop he is taking it to has its doubts about fitting in the coil overs but anything is possible with a torch, plasma cutter, and welder. I would have built the 3 link but I already have too much on my plate. I'll measure link separation as well on axle and frame.

I appreciate it!

subscribed to this build...i like where ur going

Here's a little update...

This is my gauge pod, transmission temp gauge is left to install. EGT and Boost gauges are already in. They are all ISSPRO form egauges, very nice gauges.

Just picked up sliders and transmission skid plate Sunday from Jason at Cruisin Off Road. Very good build quality and price. I'm going to bed line some stepping areas on the sliders and put them on this weekend.

1/4" steel plate on the skid, this thing is tough! One of the drainage holes line up with transfer case drain plug too.

Also picked up the 37" Toyo MTs from OK Tire over the weekend; but, I forgot to get some pictures. Will get some up later when I get the sliders on.

ok im ready for more now

Here is a better picture of the gauges. I drilled into the exhaust manifold as close to the turbo as possible to get the mixture of gasses from all cylinders. The boost gauge I removed the over boost light sensor boost hose and extended it to the gauge. That way you never have the orange light come on again because you don't need it with a gauge to monitor your boost pressure.

Corey put his sliders on last night. I'm a gimp so I sat in a lawn chair and took pictures of the work and supervised his activity. :p

Started by removing the old running boards that had seen better days but did the trick in protecting the body which was the important part. The LH slider cradles the frame and has three bolts that Go over top of the frame rail to keep them from falling off and down. The sliders are very well built.

Once mounted you can see the protection it will provide. Easily handles the weight of the truck. Only thing I would've personally wanted was the kick out to sick out a little more. But that's just me they should work very well.

Looking forward to progress on this one, some cool work, getting my truckie back from IPOR this week with new OME suspension, 3" lift, front ARB, IPOR sliders and rear bumper with integrated hitch, more than happy to let them do the install as I don't fancy laying on my back outside in this frigid Virginia weather !!, looking forward to more pics on this build

The RH side was a little tougher to get on. I imagine it would've been easier with two people. It mounts a little different. At the front of the slider instead of basketing the frame it has a plate that lines up with factory bolt holes in the frame. 4 M12 bolts to be precise, he had a hard time by himself getting the holes to line up. And the two rear mounts uses the baskets like the LH side. There is some interference with the exhaust but that can be fixed a little later.

Here is where the slider is hitting the custom exhaust. The exhaust still has to be moved up a little to clear. The sliders are well built and fit nicely. The exhaust was just hanging too low.

Stripped down the front axle to remove the third. Removed the tie rod to make things easier. Used a standard pickle fork to remove the tie rod. Waiting to get the t case back together to engage the elockers so that the thirds can be removed.

Took the old half of the t case all wheel drive differential into work and removed the bearing in a press and pressed it onto the new piece from Marks 4wd. Also some pictures of the t case parts. For a full detailed write up on the part time kit install that I did on another 80 see here. Part Time Install

Nice pile of parts man.

Doesnt winter piss you off though? You get all this shiny crap delivered but then you have to f around in -30 temps to put it on. Its been snowing here off and on all week, that combined with the cold temps has me not wanting to even open up the garage.
