His main supply bottle neck was gasoline. A great deal of it was being diverted to Montgomery and patton was, well, pissed.........

ok this is still inane chat but I'm going to rise to the bait on that "diverted" comment. That implies Montgomery was receiving some of Patton's gas. Now both of them generated enough personal gas to fuel all their vehicles if the technology had been available, but unless you are talking about Market Garden, it was the other way around as to who was stealing whose gasoline. I will agree Patton needed a lot of gas to drive around conquering huge undefended swaths of Brittany and western France while Montgomery was fighting his way through actual german formations which tended to slow him down a little by comparison and consequently reduce his gas needs.
