Might be interested in just the heater part. Is it fairly simple to attach to the filter assembly? What triggers the heating? I found the preheater unit under my dash while installing the stereo is there a way to test it?

Thanks

Unless you have the winter package or the filter primer pump as shows above you cant just use the heater assembly... all the wiring is there minus the fuse in the fuse box right next to it... Other than that I don't really know how they work, I have read they only come on at certain temps... best thing would be to ask in the Diesel section and see if someone can hook up a tester to it and see if it draws power during any given day.

I have and hdj with the factory primer pump. Also have the preheated CPU under the dash and I think I did at one point I did have a heater in the filter but the PO chucked it.

So then you would need both the above....

I would also check your fuse box, its clearly labeled in there somewhere

I'll go out tomorrow and check exactly what is there and get back to you.

Sometimes heater starts to leak and people just change cup to a non heater vision. That is probably what PO did. If you want to put your heater back you would need both parts.

Ok so here's what I have. Let me know what you think.

You have what every other non-winter truck has :P

If you want heated fuel and your truck had it in the past get both items above which is a good price btw... IIRC I paid 200 Locally for the one in your truck as it would not prime anymore.

Don't know if it had it in the past but the PO told me it did. Given that the pre-heater cpu is there I would have thought so also. Ok, so the one I have now would be replaced by your two pieces I guess. So do you have any ideas if there is a way to test the CPU/wiring? Maybe using a multi-meter or something. I wouldn't want to oder this and then have to drop more money on more parts to make it work.

Also, will this only work with OEM filters or aftermarket as well?

Send me email and i will send you FSM with info how to test it. It is only for OEM filters or equivalent of it.

There is no ECU to control Fuel heater. It is just controlled by Relay 90987-02004 which is found on many North American Toyotas as EFI relay and you can get it from wreckers or new.

OK so no relay will have to get one. Will check my local dealer if not I'll order from eBay etc.

Any idea what the empty HEAD one is?

Sorry yes. Not empty but still curious what it is

Judging by the Head(LH) and Head(RD) fuses to the right I would say possibly a relay?

Big red square is head lights relay.
