8” V6/8” E locker R&P are they the same? (1 Viewer)

I’m running 5.29 in a V6 third with a grizzly and am swapping in an e locker. Can I use the R&P from the V6 third in the e locker?

Let’s take it one step further... how about the 4 cylinder ring and pinion?

86+ are all the same. Meaning there aren't really a v6 or 4cyl gear set. Different bearings and housing.
Research long pinion head vs short.
Then sometime like 05+ they went to 30sp vs 27sp pinion gear. Otherwise the same though.

I think, someone will correct me if I am wrong, you can use the 4 cy r&p in a V6 housing but not V6 in 4cy housing. One of the V6 pinion bearings are bigger but you can use shims for the difference in the V6 housing. I have never been in a 4 cy diff
