I need to sell my 79 FJ 40 project and all associated parts. I've had the truck since 1996 and started a frame off rebuild in 2005. It has progressed very slowly and with the birth of my daughter and work I realize that I will not be able to dedicate the time it takes to finish this project in the near future.
I am located in SE PA just outside of Philly.
You can see pics and a short video for the trucks at
79 FJ 40 Landcruiser - For Sale and 89 FJ62 For Sale
I would like to get $4k for 79 project but am negotiable. I would like to sell it all together and would love if someone was interested in completing the project. I bought the truck during college in Southwestern Virginia and drove her cross country to Baja Mexico and back. I'd like to see her continue on in some fashion.
The current state of the truck is a rolling frame with rebuilt front and rear axle. I replaced the rear crosmmember and spring mounts with the ones from Cruiser Solutions
-POR 15 coated frame/axles
-OME Dakar 2.5" lift is mounted on the truck but hasn't been used
-3/4 Aqualu new generation tub with lip
-Sandblasted body parts (all blasted except the front bib)
-replacement door bottoms from CCOT
-HFS front bumper
- complete 79 drivetrain with approximately 150k, always ran strong with header rebuilt carb.
-Transfer case has always had slow leak at rear output shaft and needs a speedisleeve. ( have a rebuild kit for transfer case but is not necessary)
-Mini power steering kit with p/u gearbox and mounting bracket/hoses from JTO
-rear disc brake kit with new calipers, rotors, brackets not mounted
-new front calipers/rotors
-4 bfg 33x9.5 MT's with 40% wear on gray stock rims
- 4 79 white stock rims
- replacement used fuel tank from Cruiser parts
-fiberglass top that needs new rain gutter
I also have a FJ62 that I bought last year with 112k on the odometer. I bought the truck from the original owner with the idea that I would run it for a while and then possibly use the head and EFI on the FJ 40. This truck runs great and does have some frame rust that makes it not a great candidate for fixing up back to original.
I'd like to get $1800 for the FJ62.
