Hello everyone, I think I have the original radio for my truck but it needs a bit of tlc before I can fill the hole in my dash. I have a few questions for anyone who knows.
We’re they fitted at the factory or at the dealership?
We’re they all the same as the one I have?
Do you think mine is the original?
Does anyone have the parts I’m missing?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

So after a few searches on the net i found out the company name Matushita is an old name for Panasonic. After another search it seams Toyota fitted Panasonic (matushita) radio’s in lots of vehicles in the 70s and 80s. So I’m sure it’s the original one.
So I decided to try and restore it good enough to fill the hole in my dash. Trying to get a replacement rear knob seamed impossible so I made one that looks quite close to the original out of a plastic spray bottle cap out of my Mrs bathroom cabinet!
The front knobs I borrowed from a 70s radio I have in a 72 hillman ive had for 30 years.
So after a bit of silver paint on the face plate and black on the “new” rear knob here’s how it turned out, hope you like it?

Has the Mrs found her opened bottle of shampoo yet?

Very creative. Love it!
