Why didn't you use the 79 chassis for this project?:meh::meh:
Nice build!

The chassis had extensive corrosion issues and the diffs were in need of a major overhaul. This build was dragging on to long so I decided to store the front suspension of the 79 until I have everything to do it right.

Good stuff!! I like the 75 chassis and 79 cab, shorter, better turning circle and ramp over angle, just needs the coils from a 79 fitted!

Totally agree with you, I have been collecting everything I needed for this build over the last few years and 3 weeks ago the opportunity arose were I had a 2 week period to knock a serous hole in this project. We started in mid April and had it driving for my birthday on May 3rd. The coils up front are on my list with a set of axles I have with factory lockers.

The wheel arch extends inside the new panel by 4" and is shaped to align with the arch of the inner tub.

The tub is now ready for some etch primer, filler and paint.

After 2 years of this idea floating around in my head I finally get to see it.

The wheel arch will be painted graphite grey to match the new front wheel arch
extensions.

I have a long list of things to complete but I can now see the finish line.

Thanks for the comments, its a lot of work but it will be worth it in the end. The offroader is another 70 series, it was a 1989 LJ70 with a very good chassis but a very poor body so 4 years ago my son and myself decided to modify it for offfroading. I will put up a thread sometime in the mod section but basically it has front and rear winch and currently working on a mid mounted factory PTO winch. She runs on Maxxis creepy crawlers 37" X 14.5" with a 1PZ 3.5cc engine and gearbox married up to its original transfer and axles which gives us very low gearing for the offroading we do.

Yep please do stick a thread up when you've got a spare minute would be keen to see what you've done to it
