To install the 60 series front diff housing,I decided to outboard the springmounts on the frame an inch on both sides...

After the engine is mounted,I found that it’s sitting pretty low and quite close to the diff,about 6”,so I decided to do a spring over,I didn’t want the truck to be too high,I had a sprungover bj60 before and it was quite high.so I cut into the diff housing and countersink the spring perces into the housing....

I’m thinking of doing the same conversion in my fj55 , just wondering if you went with the h55 transmission or used the 80 series auto? Does the transfer case sit pretty low or is it ok?
would be keen to hear if you’ve done any more work on it.

Hi Wildpig,the transfercast does sit a bit low but im ok with it,the engine sit a bit low too ,oil pan very close to front diff,so I did a spring over axle conversion.there is no room for the clutch fan if the stock radiator is not moved.
I plan to run electric fan.
I have to work on customers trucks and projects so the fj55 project is on hold.
I did not use the auto from the 1hdt,im using a h55 from a 1hz engine.
