I emailed the seller - he said the rig spent its entire life in the southeast - only had one spot of rust which he took care of before the paint and the rig is now rust free...

Yeah...it isn't show quality, but to have a vortec v8 in it, that has to be worth something. Depending on if the rust is truly not there, I'd say $8k isn't a bad deal.
