it is incredibly awesome work. can't wait to see this bad boy when its done

well, today i started building that top tub piece. that was one little PITA piece :D

I started with a piece of steel, put it in my home made brake (which doesnt work very well) and made the back piece.

i then made up the front piece with the same brake.

here are the two pieces tacked together.

here it is being test fitted to the tub. its very very close. close enought for me :D

after i was happy with the fit, i started on that top fold piece. on the stock tub the outside pice is folded over the inner piece. So i tacked a piece of 1/2" steel to my work table and startd forming the bend over the inner piece. I kept hammering it till it was folded all the way over.

and the finished piece all folded over. came out very nice.

and fulled welded on. looks good :D now i just have to repeat on the other side :D

now, what do you guys think i should do with the cage? should i just add an extra hoop behind the door opening and tie it to the rear part of the cage (which is brand new)??

thanks
Shane

Hey, Paranoid! Lookn good  but is that lil motor gonna have enough grunt to pull that big thang around?

I think it will be lighter then my old truck :D I will defently get a weight on it after i am done.

ok, did more work today. mostly cage stuff as finishing that other top rail is kicking my ass. after 5 fail atempts, i gave up.
so, i orderd a new 48" box pan brake :D

so, on the cage i just extended the cage. i put an internal sleeve from front to back with a section of tube over it that matches the cage. (is this a good idea?) i also did some gussets and some more tube :D

First up was making a gusset between the b piller and the top. since my notcher died, i had to do it by hand :D

and fully welded up.

i had it match up the rear bar :D

then i added a gusset from the A piller to the top. and of corce a speed hole :D i was going to add a dimple to it, but i didnt have access to a press :D the material is 1/8" steel.

and a side shot. does this look ok? looks like a real wide span.
any ideas?
