lighter assembly is listed in my 64 book the knob is different than the rest and would be marked with S. I think there are pics I posted of roots 45 that has one.. I'll have to find it.

That would be interesting to see...I did not see one in my owners manual :hhmm:

Smoke

Pages 9-25 through 9-27 in my FJ40 chassis/body manual show a wiring diagram with the cigarette lighter (GB1) connected to the same circuit as the inspection light socket (RW1) and horn relay (GW1), going to the fuse block load side (GY1). (Coolerman can chime in on codes I'm sure).

Manual is printed in 1966.

Would the heater make this a '65 and younger...seeing as the heaters were not standard in '64s and older?

The Cigarette Lighter in my rig is an aftermarket I installed, the original owner had installed one their previously It was a bit rusty, originally was a interior light switch in the same location from what I have seen on other rigs.
The location on my rig acutely is not a good location because It is so close to the defroster duct had be careful to find a short cigarette assembly so it dose not contact the vent.

I do like the Idea of putting the cigarette lighter under the ash tray

I use to lighter for cell phone and run a small air compressor If had done the research I might have welded the hole shut and installed the original interior light switch to keep It OEM looking but I'm glad I didn't.
