Yep, I had mine repaired immediately after installing it and it still leaks where the core meets the tank.
Never had an issue with OEM. Going on almost 2 years. Both champions started leaking on welded seams. No issues ever with over heating.

They look pretty - until they snot out. This is around 10k miles. I’ll be going with the csf 2708...

Just curious, are you using tap water with your coolant mixture? Wells and city water shouldn’t be used for your coolant. My well has a pH of 6 ( acidic ) and a TDS ( total dissolved solids ) of 18... very low. The previous owner of my house had numerous holes in the copper pipes due to this problem. I installed an acid neutralizer to raise the pH and TDS to make the water neural and not aggressive. I also replaced my house plumbing with wirsbo. I used distilled water in my coolant mixture. I guess time will tell but I’m excited about my Champion. Had a good friend of mine swap the fill neck and radiator supply line to allow everything to fit better.

Nope, always mix with distilled water. Never ever use anything else

Newly rebuilt engine, all new hoses, t stat, water pump, basically everything new when I rebuilt the engine. The only other thing is I have a 60 so I didn’t have the intercooler hooked up but I wouldn’t think that would do anything. I wish I knew why it did this. They do have a limited lifetime if you can show the coolant was the right mix or something. So I’ll try to get it warrantied but I’m not holding my breath.

My experience looked just like @evilorgoodtwin , only it was immediate, it has nothing to do with water quality, it’s crappy manufacture at the brazed joints. Had a local shop try to repair it but still no luck. I’ve been running it that way for a while though, kljust keep it topped up.
