The regulator in my 73 is shot. The EPC lists nothing that interchanges with NA models, but I ordered a 60-series regulator anyway since, well, it looked similar in the EPC drawings.

Anyone know if I can shoehorn the 60-series reg into the 73?
 
funny...I was thinking of trying 62 power regs in my 70...let me know about the fit
 
Don't be fooled by the EPC my Tencha window regulator ( who have vent windows ) it's different from NA 60 series window regulator .. since all 60 series in NA have full window but the EPC shows the same image

Hmm, ok. My 73 has full windows too, so that good.

Regulator arrived today, I'll see if I can get the door panel off tonight for a look.

I think the 60 and 70 series have at least 2 variations for each series as some models have 1/4 glass vents and others dont.
 
At least 60 series you have with power and WO then you have those 2 combined with vent window ..

Here in the states...the 60s did not have wing/vent windows...at least I have never seen a US version with them

Yes ,so if you were going to shoehorn a 60 series regulator into a 70 series you would probably be best off tyring one from a 1/4 glass vent windowed door if the 70 series has the 1/4 glass door.

Me,I would have just ordered the correct 7* series regulator and waited a week or 2.

Or just replace the rubber slides in the window frames as this is where the problem begins(mental note to myself that mine need doing)

The 7* series also has the power windows option and a choice of vented or unvented ,so you really have 4 regulators for each series :D

Some of the parts sellers on ebay were differentiating over the pre/post 85 model regulators on the 6* series,so maybe there is even more.

Well.... understand if part is comming from Oz or Japan your alot closer then we are here in N. America...Shipping from either usually almost triples the price

Im still waiting to see results... I have a one window 60 and one window 70..... 60 series parts readly available here, 70 stuff......not so much

Nope. Its just a little bit wrong in every dimension - the regulator mechanism is clocked wrong (slash the main arm is straight instead of bent), the racks are just slightly different lengths, etc etc.

Note that my 73 has full windows, just like the US spec 60 that this regulator was supposed to fit, so all this stuff about vent windows is another issue entirely.

I managed to fix my old regulator though so I'm in good shape. I made a new bushing for the pinion shaft and welded it on. Seems to work. I will have to fix this again someday, I'm sure.
