My thread entitled "engine woes" is not getting any answers so maybe the thread is too long. I have installed a '87 60 alternator in my 72 55 with a 2F transplant. It has a 78 2F in it.
I unplugged the external voltage regulator. I jumped the W/G wire at the external regulator plug to a powered source in the plug. I jumped the W/B wire at the external regulator to power the "charge light"in the cab. I hooked the large charging wire (big W/B) that charges the battery from the alternator. I have checked the fuses in the cab and all are fine. I have had the alternator checked two different times at two differnt places and it checks out fine.
The alternator is not charging the battery. Can someone please help me? The Toyota shop manual says that some 2Fs have a fusable link from the alternator. I wonder if mine has one, but I cannot find it.
Thanks for your help in advance.

Reading and re- reading posts from very smart cruiser dudes.....I am baffled. The things they have suggested that other people do, I have done, and still nothing. My fingers are crossed. I even paid homage to the cruiser Gods and bought a Silver Star! Hoping the karma kicks in soon!!
