Is the OEM rod really that weak? I can see the ends being upgraded.

Sorry newbie question. Would it beneficial to do this upgrade for an expedition vehicle (i.e. long out of country trip) or just for rock crawling. I'm interested if it means I have a much lower chance of breaking something out of country, unless it means I'll be SOL lookin for a replacement.

to playboater, if you really use your rig hard it's a small price to pay.stock ought to hold up well for anything less. pay to play

I wouldn't worry about it with an 80 series until you are running a tire 37" and up.
