4Runner soft-top

I need one. I cruise around with the top down whenever I can enjoy it but I hate relying on the weather. I've heard some bad stories about them shattering the rear window. Anyone know anything about them, where to find/order one, different styles?

As of right now the only company making a soft top for 4runners is canback. STC was sold and not sure when or if they will be producing again canbacks start at $1200.00 little out of my range

Bikinis are another choice. They keep some of the weather out and are nice for any rear passengers. I run one from Downey off-road. This might be another option to check out.

just kidding, i have one and thats what some of my buddys say to me when they wanna flick me s***.


I have a army surplus canvas lean-to shelter.

the center is square and the ends are triangle.

i put the triangle side through the sunroof.
it has loop holes all over it. at the other end i fold back the triangle, and so its square, use the OE bolts to hold it down. th folded part goes over the roll bar.

i tie the ends of the triangles together with a zip tie.

twoards the front on the sides i have it zip tied to the edge of the body.

then i take my least favorite poking stick, and stuff it along the center to kind uf prop it up more, and i also gain more visibility out back.

if you want pics, and or dimemtions of the "top" then i will get em. you could easily find either the same thing or find bulk canvas at a surplus shop.

at work we have a folk lift with no factory top. some one covered it in blue heavy gauge shrink wrap. and heat gun fitted it on.

awesome! thanks for all the help, any pictures of your rigs would be rad. A bikini top would be cool but I'm looking for a full cover soft top. I'm planning on doing some across country trips in the near future. I might need to make something myself, I'm a total noob in this whole department so thanks for all the help!
