I am interested in this 93 4runner with plow. The truck is in another town and if I get it I will be losing my plow rig that I will be trading for the runner.
I have no exp with these runners and have no time to go look at it. If I go for the trade ,the 4 runner will be brought to my place.
The guy says he was plowing an the truck just quit moving . Nothing in all gears and no noise or anything.
He thinks it is the clutch, but I have never seen them go like that , they usually give up slowly .
Could it be something let go in the transfer case.
I think it has a chain drive case which I don't know much about.
Meantime I can't stay without some type of plow for long as the snow still keeps coming .
I have a clutch and 5sp with a gear drive case from an 87 , how hard is it to swap them in the runner if need be?
Any idea or feedback will be appreciated
And thanks in advance.

Could be as simple as the transfercase popping into it's neutral position... If it's a V6, then it does have a chain driven T-case, which does not have a true neutral position, but there is a place that it's in N. Without seeing it in person it's real hard to diagnose.

Thanks for the response,
It has the 22re, If it uses the same case as an 87 , I have a 5sp and transfer case from 87 plus the clutch disc .
I thougth they had a chain drive case, but I realy never had any exp with the 4runnes.

Update

I ended up with the truck and was delivered to me this Sat.
Overall it is a lot better than I was expecting.
I tried all the usual tricks and absolutley no movement and it seems the clutch has failed.
So for I have pulled everything ,but about few bolts and I should have the transmission out.
The truck has a chain drive transfercase and coil springs rear axle.
The 4 cyl seems to run fine and strong .
I think I will keep it for pusjing snow.
I will post pics if I find anything that might be interesting ,but so far it is just the normal stuff of removing the trans.

Thanks for your comments.
Vic
