i was washing my '85 4Runner today (every year whether it needs it or not) and I noticed that I really need to paint my black hardtop, it's to the point where the white is showing through on the top of it. What would be the best spray paint to use on the fiberglass? I would like a satin type finish rather than flat, easier to keep clean.

I rolled on Rustoleum Flat Black paint - I've done it twice now (in 18 years). The rough texture holds paint well. You could probably find a satin black and roll it - it would be hard, for me at least, to get an even finish with a rattle can.

I have no experience with painting that fiberglass top, but I've used lots of Rustoleum Satin Black in both spray and brush on, and it's my experience that the brush on is much more durable. I concur with using a foam roller, it well give you the best finish.
