hi all, just wondering if theres any companys in the states that do 4inch lifted springs for a 1983 (big eyes/pins) fj45 tray back.

ive noticed heaps for the 40s but its my understanding that the rear springs on the 45s are longer.

about the best i can find here in australia is 2in lift with extended shackles.
i also want to steer clear of SOA conversions. mainly because of all the crap and money you have to fork out to allow it to be roadworthy again.

any help will be FANTASTIC!!!!

Have you tried measureing up 60series springs, they are a bit longer than a 40 spring and they have the big eye/pin thing you need. maybe get 4in 40 springs in the front, and 4in 60 springs in the rear. Just guessing, I suggest measuring it up first, cause I have never tried it.
Cheers,
Deny

I agree go with 4 inch FJ 40 springs in the front then 2.5 inch lift 45 springs with extended shackles when they start to sag in the rear and to one side then use these air bags in the rear but go to a triple bag instead of a double.

I'm useing them mainly because I need an overload spring and to prevent sagging and leaning. I'm still completing the installation on mine so I have not seen how they articulate yet. They mount where the bump stops are mounted and are protected pretty well by the tire.

I ent with Alcan 4" springs
Alcan Spring - Manufactures Fine Custom Leaf Springs
they are in the US but they will build springs to your spcific needs and vehicle, and they are usually less expensive than the other spring manufactures. not sure what shipping would be like back to you though.
you might wan tto check with custom spring manufactures in AU.

Go SOA much better ride, better handling and gives you a 5" lift to clear 35" tires very easily.

i would... BUT!! i dont know what the go is over your way but in oz to do such a thing you need to have an engineers certificate to get it registered, basically i have to pay an engineer to totally inspect the mods and the entire vehicle, if it passes he will supply a written letter which must be kept in the vehicle at all times and presented to police if pulled over for any reason, there is also a modification plate that must be attached in the engine bay.

all up it is a very expensive excercise to undertake, then include the price of actually gettin the conversion done!

damn the government!!!:ban::censor:
