I have resprung/added a leaf to my 66 FJ45LV - around ~3"+ - but the rear looks a little low for 33's still. Even though the 33x9.5's I will be buying will fit inside the rear wheel wells, I'd like another inch or two of lift in the rear.

So I am thinking of adding extended shackles.

I have looked in all the regular places, but I can't seem to find extended shackles for the 45s.

Where do you get 'em?

Are there disadvantages to extended shackles?

edit:
and the obvious question - will 40 series shackles fit?

thanks...

I think generally if you have arched leaf springs like you do that are 3" over the stock arch you want a longer shackle so your now 'longer' spring has room to flex during articulation. as far as finding shackles that fit the lv I got my rear2.5" over stock haevy duty shackles from www.sor.com i prefer the man-a-fre 4plus shackles but they do not have an extended length one for the rear of the lv.
sor seems to have a better selection and more that fit our trucks
just saw your edit fj40 series front shackles will ft on the front of an lv the rear pins are larger and not the same as a fj40

First I find a shifter from Guatemala, then a source for shackles - maybe I'm too easily pleased, but you guys have been very helpful! Plus all the info/inspiration in the build threads...

Now does anyone know where I can find some hubcaps to fit the LV?
