45-vs-47 beds?

OK, I'm just flat lost now; wasn't sure if anyone would be able to get me up to par. First, there are two different (US) bed types, the rounded one, and the traditional one, (with hooks on gunwale). Are they all 45's, jkust different years and styles?

One type of bed is the long bed Fj45 that has the hooks etc on the side. the other is the swb FJ45 with the rounded bed. And actually there are 2 types of FJ45 SWB (Short wheel base) beds. THe removable top one and fixed top one. slight variation in lengths of the two. That answer your quesiton? it's not a 45vs 47 thing its a swb vs lwb (long wheel base) thing..

A HJ 47 is a LWB built after 8/80 with the diesel 2H motor, this includes the troopy, pickup and cab chassis variants. There's no such thing as a FJ 47.

Anyone have the specs (dimensions, etc) on the swb removable top bed? I have a removable top swb but not bed and need to build one. Thanks

I know at one time we measured that stuff. Im' pretty sure aqualu's short box is for the removable top. it's easier than building one.

I have heard the frame is the same but I have no proof - my FSM is not handy but the frame dimension page may shed light on your question.

Troopy body will fit on a lwb 45 frame,but new mounting points will be needed,same wheelbase,future45 the shorty bed dimensions are 68" 1/4 length and about 64" wide..
