This is a great shot of the size difference between the fj45, fj44 and fj40.

Johnny,
4 your statistic ;)
this mid wheel base Cruiser were only sold as F(B)J43/46 here in Europe. Not in all european markets they sold them ( not in Germany for example).
They came only as softtops ,
pic yesterday ( seems I like wood piles )

hardtop was optional.
Hardtop was complete fibreglass and sold only in white (wasn`t my taste, so I saved cash :D )
Cheers
Peter

The 44 had the spare tire on the right side with left side ambulance door opening first. Two tail lights license plate brackets on both the 40 and 44 series. In the US that would be a 74. Interesting.:hhmm:
... like mine, built in December 79, shipped to Europe and first registration in March 80, so it`s a 1980 BJ43 for the german administration.
Cheers

this restored BJ43 with "my doors" was sold by toms-fahrzeugtechnik last year in Germany, a 1979 if I remember exactly,
enjoy the pic.

Great pictures!

I like the overhead shot. Many of my LC friends have never really looked at what was out there 'cept for 40's and '60. This will help me answer the questions about the length, etc.

That 43 is sweet! I'm a good American but politics and the auto industry really tick me off. We missed out on some pretty cool stuff because even back in the 60/70's the domestic mfgrs couldn't/wouldn't keep up.
