Update on the top, ran it through Washington and Oregon in the worst rain storm and high winds, though for sure that soft top was coming off.

22hrs later I was in pismo and the top was not at all effected by the high winds and me driving 65 to 75MPG into the winds.

Slept in the back on a air mattress, what luxury I really enjoyed the trip.

Been asked by a few to make a couple, sad part is the guy did a one off and kept no templates.

If I get my hands on another FJ45 I will have a couple tops made, lots of colours to choose from.

Sorry Matt, back from the trip and had not time to take any photos of the top.

Georg(Orange45) has it maybe he could shoot you some pics?

Bows were bent up to match the headache rack with a little rise in the middle to let water run off.

Pretty simple design, all boat top parts, they will never rust.

Do you have any more detailed photos you could post up...that top is very nice. I would love to fab one up for my 45.

Maybe pics of the channels, how they fasten? Zippers, types of stiching in that area. Grommets around where the top fastens to the box. Did they make those bows or find something already bent up?

New 45 owner here! So excited about the restore and learning from this site.

I know this is an old thread, but does anyone know where I can get my hands on a similar canopy for my 45? Doesn't seem like I can send messages yet.

Welcome to the madness! You might try Trollhole in the Carolinas since you're an east coaster. He has done some similar work recently. You might consider starting a thread here in the 45 section to introduce your self. Be sure to include pictures, lots of we pictures. We like pictures!
