Another post for the endless list of strange requests I've had recently... I'm looking for a set of the shorter tub-height barn doors for my 82 bj42. I need to take the hard top off my truck to fit it in the garage at my new place and need to put my licence plate on something. As long as the condition is 'workable' I'll be stoked. I'll consider a tailgate too if you've got one! Thanks a lot

If you don't find anything you could always a good ol' piece of plywood. I bought a tailgate from Specter a few years ago, got the square indents like the factory doors do. I just checked their site and not sure if the price went up like crazy or if I was crazy enough to buy it back then! There are some cheaper ones though that still look good.

Very true about the plywood, haha. I already have new full size ambulance doors so don't really feel like spending another $500 on a tailgate... *sigh. Mostly hoping someone has rough set that I can bondo up and paint to get me through the summer. Even a set of full size ambulance doors would be good actually as I can cut them down to size haha.

I use a piece of 1/4" aluminum checker plate that I got powder coated. ... nice and light..

There was an add on usedvictoria. . For 40 series parts.. he was on the malhat .. I think he had some barn doors.. from the pics it was in a container. .. I will see if I still have his info.. I never meet him.. price was too high for the thirds he was selling..

I had wanted to make a set of fiberglass molds at some point for rear half doors... or a rear half door style tailgate...

Wouldn't be so hard to do I guess.

Wouldn't be hard for you, because you were trying to con me into building the molds for you. :flipoff2:

But no, if someone had something to copy it wouldn't be that hard. Not enough 40's around anymore tho. :meh:

i've got some lower half doors kicking around if you ever feel like making some molds.

It could be stainless.. wonder who works at a stainless shop and has access to a shear and can weld stainless. ..
