Youre right about the diesel swap Barry, if I had the knowledge to do the change correctly I would in a heart beat. My dilemma is that I have several thousand of dollars in Dr. bills which will take all of the money from the sell of the 40 to pay them off, If I sell just the Tacoma that want leave me enough to but a real dependable daily driver. I've tried to think of ways around selling it because I had planned on keeping this 40 for a long time, but I cant stand of carrying that much unsecured debt.

What color is it now, green or grey, silver the pic are not true colors
what color was it orginal paint color and the interior now
how is the interior and seats, original

whats the mileage and hows the underside belly

The color now is called Phantom gray pearl, Its a Toyota color that came on the Tundra.

It was freeborn red when I bought it but faded real bad, the tub has been herculined, but the rest of the interior is still red, I was going to paint the rest of the interior black but havent had the time.

The seats are original but need reupholstered. The rest of the interior is in good condition, probably one of the more complete interiors I've seen in a 40 in a long time.

The mileage shows 73,xxx I dont know if that is the original mileage or not. The frame is solid but there is rust on the underside, I tried to fix this truck to be a pretty clean looking 40 with lots of original equipment but not so clean that you wouldnt want to wheel it.

Every time I walk my dog, I keep my eye open for any $5000 bills that may have been dropped. :(

Very nice Cruiser! If you do sell it, I hope it stays in the "family".

Thanks a bunch, I really hope it stays local also thats why I didnt post it on the national forum. Its a cool truck and I hope someone gets it that appreciates cruisers.

rode in it again yesterday, shes a nice cruiser. the seat belt buzzer still works too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! try findin that anywhere else outside a resto :)

I agree, if you "really" want to sell it, throw it on ebay.

Yeah you are probably right, I was really hoping that it would sell to someone here. Im gonna give it a little more time first then its off to ebay or jfz80's and concretes front yard. It will probably go quick there and for more money but I would rather see someone I know get it.

My boss is looking at it....and thinking.

DO you still have the 40? I have been thinking of getting one for my wife. She loves the 40s that are stock or close to it.

Well she's gone :(

Man it was tough watching the 40 leave out of the driveway, but as bad as I hated to sell it I also needed to sell it that bad as well. It made it easier knowing it was going to such a class act and good guy, Im sure he will chime in when he gets back to Charleston and gets settled in. Hopefully it will give him as much fun as it has me. Heres a few parting shots.

hate to see it go Steve, but sounds like it went to a good home. Need to get together soon so I can see that 80.... take care man.

I'm in the same predictament as you Steve. My 40 has to go. Dont think the wife would let me take the kid back, and I would not want to anyway!

Take care and maybe someday I will have the time to swing by while I am in Oak Ridge!
