Just an FYI: Yesterday morning I saw a what looked like from 50-yards away
anyway a nice looking beige 40 with a For Sale sign in the windshield.

Very nice, too rich for my blood, but it looks like a solid start.
Jack
I would expect it to sell for twice that much if it ran, based on what I have seen sell on here and in Trails. EVERYTHING is original on this thing from the hub caps to the jack to the canvas. It isn't a good deal if you want to build a wheeler, but I think that it is a good deal if you want an original FJ40 because you won't get nickle and dimed trying to find all of the correct parts. I am flexible on the price but this is the best resto candidate I've seen in a long time. If I can't get my money out of it I'll just hold on to it and restore it for a driver when I have the time/money.
