Finally started pulling the front axle apart to start changing the 5.29 for a 4.56. only about three weeks late, but for some reason my patient but very pregnant wife wanted a second functioning veh around the house.

So the sprog popped last wed. Son, Julian, 9 lbs. Everyone is okay.

So finally got a half day today, but got hung up fighting with piddly little time eating hangups. The front diff ain't out yet, but so far the front axle seems in good shape.

Not sure when I'll get time to sum this up now. I want to have the ARB taken out of the 5.29 and put in the 4.56 before installing it, or I'll kick myself for having not got that sorted while the axle is apart.

But with any luck, I'll have a functioning 4 wheel drive, instead of a jacked up 2 wheel drive!

but i bet with a new baby in the house, i'll use up all my money and points with the missus getting it rolling!

that's all for now.

Chris

congrats on the little one... and your spare time will be a thing of the past...:D

as for the diff... the arb is attached to the ring gear so if you replace the gear then i dont see you doing it twice... maybe i am reading it wrong..

Nice Chris, A big congrats to you and your wife with the arrival of Julian!!!! With Pata leave hopefully you will get more time to spend on your sweet rig......and your family to;)

Thanks y'all.

I should stop writing about babies and trucks at night. The baby has matched gears.

Diff came out last night and if all goes right next week will go back in as an ARB'd 4.56.

ANyone need a 5.29 R and P for a 60? Only the one.
