I have a rebuilt 4 speed that I got from spector off road and I have to use the shift tower from my old four speed. The shift tower seems to still be held on by something when I pull the bolts off, I am wondering if the shift forks are hooked to the shift towerand that is what is holing it on :confused. Anyone ever done this? or have any tricks to getting it off and back on the new one?

I have my H41 apart and I can't see anything that would hold the tower on. Tap it with a deadblow or rubber mallet and it should pop off. If not remove the whole tranny cover and remove shifter rails then remove it. I just removed my whole cover and did not seperate the tower from the cover.

There are only the small 8mm bolts holding the tower to the top cover. Beyond that, I could only guess that PO used some horrible weatherstrip adhesive. Good luck.
