Ok the tires are being intalled onto the wheels as we speak. That's a major step🥳.
The black box's shifter is installed and sits perfectly in the center console. We're gonna need a third shifter for the transfer case high and low . I found the perfect spot for it.

Here are some pictures

Loved the roll cage.

...or is that a tip over on it's side cage? IDK

Ok. So, beside giving the monster its own set of shoes, we also continued woth that console. I found a spot for the transfer case shifter. It took a bit of thinking and some fab work, but it came out perfect.
We also started installing sheet metal on the over fenders. We hope to have those installed by saturday.

A lot got done today. Installing the wheels and tires on the truck was necessary for more than one reason. An important one is that it allows one to get a complete vew of the wehicle , its stance and last but not least : lets you see wheter they're scrubing on parts of the body.
Well , that is exactly what those big tores threathenend to do : the rear tires were gonna destroy my cab corners. We saw it and provided a swift and effective solution

I addressed the air box today. I found scraps of stainless sheet metal and will use those to make it. So far, it seems like our best bet is to place it on the passenger side. We'll make a lid with plexiglass and a 4" stainless steel snorkel will handle the task of feeding the engine with clean, fresh air.

Have not had much time to post lately. Had to travel and work is keeping me away from my projects.
We're still giving it time when possible.
The thermostat, transfer pump and oil cooler for the Black box are finaly here,
The engine harness and ECU are being mocked up so we can decide where each will go. Still far from driving it , but getting closer by the day.

Guys, i have a question for the Ls gurus here. I had my harness reworked by this guy who owns a company called : Lsxharnesses.com.
Thing came back much smaller than it originally was. Looks ok . Other than the fact that the alternator wire is a tad too short and have found no plug for the a/c compressor. Shouldn't i also find a plug for my gas pedal ? The donor truck is a 2009 Suburban 6.liter and is fly by wire. Heck.... i found a plug for the throttle body.
I also have 2 black outside / purple inside plugs.
Only found a spot for one around the crank pulie, which tells me that this might be the crank position sensor bit i can't find wher the other one shoud go for the life of me. I sure am glad that i tried this thing on now. Also wondering whether i should also have a plug for the shifter since the 6l90e is electronically controlled.
Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

Sending that battery under my back seat revealed itself to be a great idea. This saved so much space in the engine bay . I've never been a fan of that big rectagular ugly thing just sitting there.
My airbox found it's home with no problem , allowing me to use the Suburban's air intake. This will in turn make my life easier by allowing me to simply attach certain tubes where they belonged originaly.
I will build my own snorkel out of 3.5" 304 stainless steel pipe. I saw that set up on 45's from Oz. I figured i' d orderit from them but with the shipping only being $400.00(and that's to Florida... still would need another $4.00/ lbs.to get to me) and the product being $2300.00.... humm....🤨 you know what i' m thinking : I'LL BUILD IT MYSELF.
So i ordered some 3.5" , 45 degree 304 stainless bends ($53.00) . A 4' lenght of straight 304 stainless steel pipe ($34.00) , some silicone joiners , 6 stainless clamps and done.
I'll have what i want for less than half the price of shipping from Australia and i can use the money for something else.

There usually is not much space available in 40 series builds for all the performance enhancing stuff one would like to install. This is not the case in this one😅. Between the cab being longer and it sitting 3" off the frame, space under and inside this thing is the last thing to complain about🤣
I needed a spot for my Black box's oil cooler. We welded some mounting brackets to the frame and it now tucks up high under the passenger seat under the truck. Has a 6" electric fan and is to be regulated by a 180 degree thermostat . I am intalling an inline filter for safety and a pump to move the extra gallon of oil from the Harley-Davidson oil bag to the Black box and back.... the Mud community has discussed this set up enough for me to not even attempt to install a Black box without a cooling system. I will install a temperature gauge on the dash board somewhere to be able to keep an eye on the sucker.
With all that installed, i still have room to install my auxiiary fuel tank and still have space for more craziness😁. This is good !
