i've had this question wandering in my head for awhile.
is it possible to swap a 22r motor from a scrapped Toy, and put it into a Blazer with the 4.2 or the 4.3 engine in it? This is for my curiosity only, however. I would never do such a thing.

Well.... the long answer is yes. Anything is posible with lots of time and money..... But I don't think anyone has done that swap as it's kind of backwards.... less power.... and so on, so the short answer is no, you will probably not be able to find any pre-made parts to do that swap.

well, it was a thought. i thought about it, because i've been getting pretty good mileage with my 4Runner, compared to some friends' 90's Blazers. which got an average of 12 mpg. 15 at the highest, with a feathered right foot.

The Tranns gears and diff gears would have that thing chugging

Yes, Toyotas have truck rear end gears they dont pull because they have CAR tranny gears

Sleepy (torqy) american rigs have lazzy gears

Cool idea though would love to see how it turns out (if someone does it)

IOW try finding a 22RE 4door 4wd 4runner!
