As the mornings have been getting colder, my engine (3VZE) is taking longer and longer to roll over in the morning. Up to four seconds at ~35 degrees. The starter sounds normal, and it eventually rolls over like normal, i'm just concerned about extra wear on the starter and starting once the extreme cold gets here. Never did this in previous winters... After its been warmed it rolls over very quickly, as it always has.

Any ideas? Maybe time for a tune up?

Thanks,

-Brian

maybe time for plugs and wires.
what oil do you run? with a colder start, thicker oil will set up, and lug down the first try at cranking.

cold start

I would change the oil first (5w-30) then check and see if your cold start injector is firing when cold it could be clog as well run a can of seafoam if you could get it.

Thanks guys!

Just changed to winter oil (5w-30) and no significant change :frown:. What is the best way to check the cold start injector for proper function?

pull it and look at the manifold end, run some canned air and carb cleaner through it.
