Problem:
No gauge lights, no tail lights, no A/C blower, no park lights, I have to use shift lock override to shift out of park. Everything else works.

Background:
My A/C went out the other day on the way home. It turned out the belt had twisted on the pulley and was about to break. I changed all three belts. When I had everything tight and restarted the 80 I turned on the A/C to make sure the compressor was working, and it was. I then looked under the hood to make sure all was good. I noticed that the Alt. power wire was glowing at the connection. I immediately shut it off. The nut holding the wire on had worked loose and was not making a good connection. This wire had been loose for awhile based on the condition of the wire. I went to tighten the bolt and arced the wrench off of the intake (I know, I know, unhook the battery) I unhook the battery and clean and tighten the Alt wire. The Alt is charging at 13.9V. When I crank it back up now I have the issues mentioned above.

I have checked the fusible links, all the fuses, and relays (visual and electrical). I have an FSM and EWD and still can't figure it out. All of my issues are on the same circuit but I'm not having issues with everything on that circuit. I don't have power to the tail light fuse. I have 11.6V to the stop light fuse with vehicle running but it goes to zero when I press the brake pedal. Same thing with the defog fuse (11V with vehicle running zero with the switch on). Gauge fuse has 13.4V with vehicle running and no change when the headlights are on, but no gauge lights. All other fuses have 13V.

So that tells me that the tail light relay might be bad. I switch the horn relay(it works) and the tail light relay because they are the same and no difference. The horn still works but no tail lights. The tail light relay and the heater relay bench tested bad but my bench test method may be flawed since switching the horn and tail light relay proved the tail light relay to be good.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for reading this far.

I have the exact same problems, I was wondering if anyone ever figured this out or has any suggestions on where to look for the issue?

Did you also short the alternator power lug to the intake manifold with a wrench? That would blow the FL MAIN fusible link.
The OP said he checked the fusible links, but if he truly did short the lug, then FL MAIN is gone, which also powers the rest of the circuits he was having issues with.

I didn’t short it out but I figured out what was going on the connector on the back of the alternator was not fully engaged so it was causing the system to go in and out I simply pushed it in until it clicked and everything started working
