I was wondering if the bolt pattern is the same for a '69 3 speed and a '78 4 speed. I doubt they are but I was hoping.

I am picking up my new piggie in Salt Lake City mid March (see avatar) and it currently has a 350 w/ a 3 speed toyota tranny behind it.

Since I am converting my '78 FJ40 to a strict rock crawler withn a SM465/NP203/NP205 combo. I have a "spare" 4 speed tranny.

I was hoping that I wouldnt have to buy a new conversion plate for it but if I do, well then oh well.

Thanks

i'm pretty sure because you have to buy a different conversion bellhousing and it is 3 speed to 4 speeds specific...

and a 350 with a stock 3 speed is trouble waiting to happen IMHO...

If you are keeping the 2F with the 465, you will need the 3 speed bellhouseing. That would leave the 4 speed BH and tranny for the other one. Still need to do the drivelines and slave cylinders but you have alot of what you need for both already.

if your interested i am pulling my downey SBC-to-LC 4spd bellhousing... trade for 3spd case? Pm or call 607-227-9585. phone is best.
good luck with your swap, carl
