3 Speed Transmission. So Cal****Found one..thanks Mark****

I pulled apart my tranny from the t-case to replace the gasket/seals and am looking for a good 3 speed to replace mine that slips out of 3rd gear. I'm in Murrieta CA.

A couple of six packs of Fat Tire and I will hook you up with one in Burbank.

Could have delivered it to Murrietta a month ago.:meh:

Planning on picking up the trans tonight. Should be in the shop tomorrow!

I might be in the shop Saturday.

If not, I will be in Hollywood, repairing sash cords on old windows.

3 spd no longer needed

Tranny (not the Eddie-Murphy-dating-Hollywood kind) was picked up Friday night. It cleaned-up real nice and my son and I mated it with the T-case today. Its going in the 40 tomorrow.

It was worth the 4 hr drive from San Diego to see a master work his craft. Also, thanks to Mark for the course threaded bolts he gave me. If it wasn't for the I would have been delayed because my fine threaded bolts would not have worked and I had no clue about the different thread pitches. Here's to you :beer:

Ed

P. S.
The gaskets and seals I bought were of great Japanese quality.

It was great to meet you...again! I wish all my customers showed up with a cooler full of Fat Tiire and a good attitude. :)

I will tell Morgan [the guy who donated the trans] you are happy with the trans.

3 speed tranny

Mark, remember my 21,000 original mile 3 speed tranny you told me was pratically worthless? You were right. I put it up on a no reserve auction on Ebay. A lady got it for $10.00---ouch!!! Also, that 6 cylinder header is still up side down in your banner ad---driving me crazy!!!

Follow-ups to a very old thread.

1. Ed left the ice chest that the Fat Tire was in with me as well.

2. That same day, another customer dropped off a carburetor to be rebuilt. Obviously impressed with the karma, when he returned to pick up his carburetor a couple of weeks later, he too brought me a cooler full of beer…and left me the cooler!

3. And…THE SAME DAY (I am not making this up) that I got the first delivery, someone from MUD in Illinois with an FJ60 called about a carb rebuild, and I couldn’t resist telling the story. His carburetor showed up two weeks later…in a cooler! THREE COOLERS IN TWO WEEKS. That is some interesting karma.

4. I sent the 3rd cooler back east with @HENDOG when he took delivery of his swb45 a few months later.

5. Morgan, my friend that donated the transmission, is the same fellow that I mentioned in the warehouse fire thread who passed away in December. But not before I had a chance to regale his second wife with the story of the three ice chests.

@mtn biker , I’ve got hundreds of stories like this.

Great story Mark! Thank you for sharing, it's great to know that the cooler thing caught on. I still have that three-speed. Take care and may your friend Morgan rest in peace.
