Anybody south island have a torque wrench capable of 350ftlbs they would be willing to lend?

Need to do the crank bolt on a 1HDT when my new harmonic balancer arrives. Wont 't need it for a couple weeks just trying to figure out where I can borrow or rent one when the time comes? Many beers for anyone that can help.

This is how the AC pulley came off by hand. I figure the crank pulley might be a good idea at this time lol

Just an FYI, if anyone is looking for one in the future, United Rentals has a 600ftlb wrench available for rent.

Good to know. HOw did you keep the engine from turning while you torqued the nut? Did you make a tool to bolt onto the crank pulley and hold it in place?

Quick answer is I havent done it yet lol. The engine is still on the hoist right now. New harmonic balancer showed up today from partsouq. The plan is to drill a couple holes in a piece of stock to grab a couple of the bolt holes in the balancer and either weld a long bar to it to rest on the floor or chain it to the frame....... this wont happen until I get it in the engine bay as I suspect attempting this on the hoist would be a very expensive mistake ;)

Actually it just occured to me that I could weld a long bar onto my old AC pulley..... the bolt holes are already lined up for me ;)

Right on! On the 70 series the frame works well to stop the tool from turning while I torque the nut.
