Hahahahaha!!!!! :D Tryin' to drum up some comments? I meant to reply, but got side tracked. Yes you guys do have fun in the black hills! All our snow is gone here at home, but my dad still has 2 ft +- in his yard.... (Got 6-7 ft this year) it's made for some interesting drive ways this winter.

You might try posting it up in the event/trails/expedition section.... Don't know if you'll get more comments.. but it's worth a shot. Don't take it personally... 58 people wanted to look at your snow run...., they were all just too awe struck to reply!

Snow is a lot of fun, we got record levels here in northern california this year. now ive had enough of the stuff and im ready for summer so i can go play on the rocks again. after a while i will get tired of rocks and thankfully there is snow again to revive my spirit :hillbilly:

well here is what happened to day. went snow wheeling again.
something right off the bat. Sitting there waiting for everyone and when they got there. My truck would not start. alt plug had worked loose and would not snap back in place. I wiggled it and charged the battery.. did that all day any time we stopped.

I also had to winch some. that really sucked with a low battery.
wiggle charge, winch, wiggle charge winch.

will look at it on sunday. wedged a glove between the alt and radiator hose that runs right there. sort of worked but when the motor flexed it stopped charging.

this is after about 20 min of shoveling when the wife crawled out the drivers side door, the pass side would not open.

man that go deep quick. think that maybe I slipped off the road into the ditch.. also had a tree stump that stopped me. wedged agains the rear axle after I dug in.

an alot of slash branches. I think I also hit a small slash pile. that made the shoveling all the more fun!!!

ok, here is what I found, no way even using a small pry bar could I get the alt 3 wire to snap into place.
I wanted to get rid of the rag joint. on the steering, had cut my inner fender big time for the hydro assist. (thank goodness)
I used to be able to sneak the alt out between the frame and lower radiator hose. with the cross over and the welding braces no way...

so I grabbed a second alt from the garage the connector slipped right in and locked.
crap.
tried again, no go.
so pulled the alt thinking that there must be mud or small stone something stuck in there. could not really look any way that I tried.

so pulled it, looked, nothing tried again, no click. so thought I will spray some oil on it.... clicked right in.. go figure.

that is when I noticed that the one on the truck was a re man...
so I put the stock toyota one that I had in there. good to go now.

dang just a bit of oil and I may not have had to mess with it ALL DAY... also I mess up the insulation on the wires pretty bad on the trail trying to pry it into place.... tape, no not enough room to get a good wrap.. no way to take it apart with out messing it up..
so I just smeared a bunch of sealer over the bare parts. looked good so will see in oh 20 years.:D

the rag joint, the motor was hot on the run, I didn't want to shut it off as I didn't know if it would start.
the rag joint was hot from the header and scary flexible..
so today to pull the alt from the cut fender, I had to remove the steering shaft.

good news toyota shafts you pull it. take the two bolts loose. take the two nuts off and beat the studs out. remove the rag joint. use your now extra washers on the back side of the two bolts. the two shafts match up and bolt in like they were made that way. I double nutted the bolts as I had the nuts left over from the studs that I beat out.
now remember when you re install it.. the steering wheel will be 90 degrees off unless you remember this when re installing it on the steering box...

I did notice a bit more vibration in the steering wheel. but nothing I can't live with.

so there is really some tech in this.. lol

check the trail ride section for the rest of the pictures and story since I found this is the tech section.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
