I'm not going to be able to make this one, either!!

Ok I can be there and handle the meeting. We need ideas on some runs you guys would like to do. Also, Kieth we had tabled a vote on wether to extend with nevada four wheel until we could get more info about their progress and action.

mark,
Just sent an e mail to Larry at NV. 4wd assn. Re. the issue w/ updates of information to allow him the opportunity to speak to this.
IMO, they have done a very poor job at keeping its members in the loop on some very important issues surrounding our state.
Most everything r/t land use that I've gotten word about has been from Cal4WD and BRC.
THOUGH, it's not really "fair" for me to tag them (NV4WD ASSN. ) to be responsible for info re. California land use issues, like the eldorado closures....
Today, I just received an e mail about a "state of the association" address / membership drive to be held at the off road expo next weekend....

So this is the e mail I had sent.

Larry,

I'm going to mention this in the hopes that this won't be taken w/ insult, but rather as an opportunity for the NV4WD Assn. to improve on an area that I, and others in the club which I belong (Battle Born Cruisers of Northern Nevada), have discussed in regards to our continued support of NV4WD.

The one thing that has really disappointed me about the Assn., has been the lack of updates by the NV4WD ASSN. Re. What it has been doing, where it's members could help and what new concerns are coming down the line as far as land use in Nevada either by e mail, website or Facebook.

Most all of the recent information I have received re. Land use issues has been from OTHER associations/ forums as well as important actions for us as members to take. This lack of information has been the primary reason I have not submitted to re up my membership and additionally, we (BBCNN) have shelved re upping the club membership.

Again, the intent is not to insult you or the assn, but rather bring your attention to this concern and allow you the opportunity to address it.

Thank you for your time on this an I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Keith Hansen

This is the response I got today.

Keith,

We on the BoD of N4WDA understand and agree with you about the lack of communication back to the membership. In our defense, if there is truly one, we each are occupied with our own responsibilities for making the Association work. For example, I am involved with the Carson City BLM RMP, the Las Vegas/Pahrump BLM RMP, the Deer Valley mess, the Greater Sage Grouse issue, membership and communication. Others are responsible for our Facebook and Website, our finances, etc.

We are looking for someone that will be a board member that can do the communication and promotion for N4WDA. We now have a person on the BoD that has facebook administrative privileges, but he’s not yet up to date on our issues. I’ve tried to do a quarterly update which appears on the website, facebook page and is emailed to the membership, but, I’m afraid, that it’s all I’ve had time for.

Reiterating, we know that we lack the communication that we should have and are trying to fix it, but we don’t have the man or manpower at this time.

Thanks, Keith, for your comments, and, as you can see, I’ve forwarded it to the other BoD members and advisors,

Sincerely,

Larry

Great letter and concerns Keith. Sounds like they are involved and doing what we had hoped for when we signed up with them. We discussed this at the meeting and all of us voted to pay the annual club dues. Not sure if Mike has cut the check, if you would like postpone til the next meeting. Again kudos for finding out if our $$ would be well spent. Hopefully they wil follow through wih their plans for better communication.

No objections from me!!
Admittedly, I was getting a bit aggrevated about the communication, but Larry clearly has a lot on his plate.
