3.0L v6 hydrolocked

My buddy hydrolocked his 3.0 we pulled the plugs and cracked it over to get the water out only problem is it every time it gets to the the compression or exhaust or maybe both didn't pay to much attention of the 6 cylinder it stops turning over I'm wondering if a valve is stuck open or came unseated and is basically jamming the piston head at tdc... I thought those engines was ones that at tdc the piston won't hit the valves if stuck open idk... Please if anyone has had this happen to them let me know or if any ideas
 
I can't remember if those are interference engines or not but I'd use it as an excuse to swap in a 5vz-fe.
 
Yes I can turn the crank with a Rachet and forward or back the piston and the distributor both stop at the 6 cylinder being tdc didn't really pay to much attention on which stroke tho
