3.0 assembled wrong...bent valves?

buddy bought a torn apart truck from some rookies.
they didnt line up the cam dowel on the pulley and when they went to start it, the dowel got sheared off. do the valves on these piles bend?
 
Yep, that is an interference engine.

Uhhh.... no it's not. Toyota engines generally follow a tradition:

Timing chain -- inteference fit.
Timing belt -- non-inteference fit.

The 1UZ in the Tundra and Land Cruiser breaks that tradition. Inteference fit with a timing belt.
 
its all good. i wouldnt do a tear down with out further diag.
its that the guy who asked me about it.. i said i would look into it. and told him the other day. dont worry man. its all good :D
