i possibly just acquired a 2003 tacoma with a 3.4 5 speed 4x4 and 130,00 kms on the clock .

i have a 93 3.0 with a 5 speed 4x4 350 000 kms (its tired)

i know you can swap the engines easily enough (wiring , body lift bla bla bla ) but what about the whole driveline ? would it be much more to use the tacoma transmission and t-case or at least the transmission , my current one has a syncro in 3rd that is acting up and a much newer one would be nice .

so is there a big difference in transmissions and t-cases ? or will the whole damn thing sorta just bolt in there no more difficult then just swapping the engine ?

thank you for your time .

The Taco T-case has a drivers side drop for the front drive shaft... I'm not sure if you can adapt an older T-case to the taco trans or not. It's not a direct fall in swap, and it may not be worth the effort to use the taco trans...

Off Road Solutions was about the only ones offering info on these swaps and (a) they are out of business, and (b) they didn't have the wiring worked out very well. PM me and I can give you slightly more info on this subject.
