And we do offer boots but not 555, they are the OEM Toyota boots and they fit the 555 joints. I'm assuming Jason was thinking you were after 555 boots proper. Sorry for the confusion there.

For the record a shop is always going to say they did it the "right way" when you ask specifically. Otherwise they would be on the hook for re-work. Do you think service managers have a truth serum just because you ask? No way of knowing unless you were looking over the tech's shoulder when it was done. Move on, damage done.
 
Safe $1 bet says the tech tried to press the joint in with the boots in place and buggered them up, especially looking at the gorilla work on the spindle arms.. Best way to do it is to take the boot off and use your press cup set to press the joint in. Then grease the boot and put it on. This isn't a ball joint failure, IMHO.
