2L-TE complete top end replacement

Saturday I'm mocking up my new top end for my LJ78 .. in preparation for swap out with existing bits... as I am completely replacing the top end (head, intake & exhaust manifolds.. turbo & adding a top mount intercooler) can I save some wrench time and disco the existing top end as a unit?? (rather than removing each individual component)
Also.. I need new studs & nuts for the manifolds.. anyone know the generic specs for the intake/exhaust studs/nuts???

I would guess that the head can be removed with both manifolds still attached, though it might make getting at some of the fasteners and hoses more difficult. Worth a try though.

Tomorrow is engine build day.. fabbed up a new vertical throttle body inlet..

To match up with the thermal coated top mount intercooler.. (same coating as Indian Motorcycle Factory racing team)

& the internally & externally ceramic coated turbo..

got my new hood scoop today.. here's a pic outside ups.. just opened the box.. whoopee!!

I'll try & take pics tomorrow.. but the greasier & bloodier I gethink the harder it will be to hold my phone.. ha ha..
Thursday is new ems install.. URGENT.. Lj78 89661-60110/601111 ecu pinout
& 3" exhaust day.. Friday is new stereo & speakers.. whew...

Btw... I will be having CAPS coating all the parts I swap out plus the head as well (didn't do my new head as it has already been assembled.. & I'm rebuilding the oem denso injection as well... if you're interested pm me...

Good stuff.

Going to put a fan on your intercooler to keep it from becoming an interheater at low speeds? All the hot air in the engine bay will want to rise out that hole.....

What do you mean by "rebuild the denso injection"? Curious.

No fan required... valve cover insulated. over 2" clear from oil fill cap to bottom of intercooler

.. hood scoop will do the rest..
Denso is the manufacturer of efi injection pump & injectors..
