Hey all,

My alternator belt busted on me, and I could use a belt diagram for my NON-turbo 2h engine. Sorry if it's located somewhere here already, but I've been searching for a while now, and no luck.

Also, it looks like I have to take off all 3 belts in order to put the alternator one on. Does anyone know how I release the tension on the bottom belt?

Thanks!

So I found the adjuster bolt for the bottom belt. It's right on the bottom of the vehicle if anybody is as new as me and doesn't know.

I was wondering if anyone knows how to judge the amount of tension that should be on the belts. Is there a specific way to know, or should you just go by how it sounds and feels?

Also, if the tensions are off, what's the worst that could happen?

Thanks!

I just set the tension by feel. The bottom adjuster is for power steer pump only. If you do it too tight the pump bearings will suffer:doh:, too loose and it will squeal and make the steering heavy:meh: The belt on the water pump / alternator needs to be reasonably tight or your battery will not charge properly:D The third belt with the adjuster at the top, needs to be firm too, to turn the AC pump. Hope this helps you.

I am no expert.
having had to do the same thing few months ago.
You need to remove the power steering belt and ac belt.
I managed to slip the drive belt by power steering pulley.
I also remember having to remove a bracket from under the ac pump (2 12m bolts.
I just tightened the belt by feel so my charge light doesn't come on when running.
You can have the tension checked ,if you are very fussy.Someting like 1/8" defliction. loose blet will cause charging problem. I guess.
The drive belt I got was not easy to put on. I also changed the other 2 belt since i was already there.
where you have an adjusting pulley (like on the power steering), don't forget to loosen the big not on the pulley to release .
